Is it really elective surgery if the alternative is cancer?
Looking for some BIG thoughts, prayers, good ju-ju, or whatever you got for my sister, Courtney Nicole Owen. Like myself, my aunt, and 2 cousins, my sister will have her ENTIRE stomach removed next Wednesday at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Given an 83% chance of stomach cancer and 4% chance of survival if you get it, having your stomach removed is the only 100% way to prevent getting gastric cancer and this is just what she will do.
Courtney, you are an amazing wife, mother, sister, auntie, etc. I have no doubt in my mind that you are making the best decision for you to ensure you will live a long, healthy, and amazing life. Keep your chin up….you got this and you have all of us to lean on for love and support!
